We buy a diverse array of metals

Did you know that almost all metals can be recycled? There are also creative ways to strip products that can unlock value in items that would otherwise be wasted.

There are many benefits to recycling metals. It’s cheaper to process existing metal into new products than mining raw materials and refining them for production. It’s also much better for the environment as it uses as little as 5% of the energy and reduces landfills.

Metal can be recycled over and over again without losing its properties. Aside from ferrous metals, which can rust from corrosion, metals are incredibly durable and won’t degrade over time. Although pricing fluctuates constantly as supply and demand change, non-ferrous metals are usually worth more money than ferrous metals.

Elite Recyclers accept a diverse array of metals and pay extremely competitive prices. As a fully licensed scrap metal buyer, we can ensure your scrap metal is handled responsibly. Our scrap yard has a variety of recycling facilities and an experienced team that are able to process common metals as well unique metal items.

Scrap Metal List

There are a few important tips you should know before recycling your scrap.

There are two main categories of metal — ferrous and non-ferrous metal. Both are metals that can be recycled, the difference is ferrous metals contain iron and non-ferrous metals do not.

Ferrous metals are very durable and usually magnetic, however, they can be more prone to rust unless combined with an alloy. Common examples include stainless steel, wrought iron, cast iron, high carbon steel and alloy steel. This type of metal is more abundant and typically costs less. It’s primarily used for infrastructure and transportation industries as building materials, however, household items such as cookware may also use ferrous metals.

In contrast, non-ferrous metals are usually less dense, conductive, more malleable and do not rust. These properties make them more sought after, yet there is a significantly lower supply available. Popular examples include copper, aluminium, lead, cobalt, nickel, tin, zinc and precious metals like gold and silver. These materials are used for a variety of everyday items, such as fixtures, batteries and electronic devices.

Many types of unused equipment, old metal supplies and parts can easily and quickly be converted into cash. If you’re not sure whether your scrap metal is suitable for recycling, call us to find out! As your metal recycling experts, Elite Recyclers are always happy to help.
